Founder Malanie Jordan's background, master's degree in public administration, administrative skills, experience working with others, and supervisory skills to manage a tax-exempt non-profit helped to develop non-profit knowledge experience. SEPTA employment from 1988 until 2010 includes (a) operating a bus (1988 - 1990), working with the public and collecting fares. (b) Employment as a SEPTA dispatcher (1990 - 2010) was an opportunity to manage SEPTA employees, create and assign work schedules, payroll activities, paycheck distribution, and other SEPTA administrative roles as assigned.

Post-retirement community outreach opportunities before and after Ladies in Transit Holistic CDC was founded introduced Malanie Jordan to non-profit management, grant writing, volunteer opportunities, assisting other non-profits with community outreach projects, drafting community outreach flyers, scheduling volunteers, and other administrative support as requested. I would like to give a shoutout to my favorite Black Owned Business, Mankind Against Poverty (MAP) located at 1533 W. Stiles St., Philadelphia, PA 19121. MAP founder Lewis Nash, Sr. encouraged me to start Ladies in Transit Holistic CDC. Mr. Nash was my non-profit mentor and taught me, Malanie Jordan, how to manage a tax-exempt non-profit organization.
