MISSION

The South Jersey Chamber Foundation seeks to enhance workforce development and economic opportunities to improve the vitality of the region.

VISION

We envision a thriving Southern New Jersey where every individual, entrepreneur and business has access to the education, resources, and opportunities needed to achieve success. By fostering collaboration, equity, and innovation, we strive to create a region recognized for its skilled workforce, strong communities, and sustainable economic growth.

Workforce Development

SJ Summer Institute for Educators

The South Jersey Summer Institute for Educators (SJSI) is a signature workforce development initiative of the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey, designed to bridge the gap between education and industry. Since its founding in 1991, the program has equipped teachers with real-world insights into business, economic, and public policy trends—empowering them to better prepare students for success in today’s evolving workforce.

By connecting educators directly with regional employers, industry leaders, and hands-on learning experiences, SJSI creates a powerful ripple effect—impacting not only participating teachers, but the thousands of students they reach each year. Through immersive experiences, collaborative curriculum development, and exposure to in-demand skills, the program strengthens the pipeline between classroom learning and career readiness across Southern New Jersey.

EmpowerU

Looking for a practical, cost-effective way to support employee development without disrupting busy schedules? Register your employees for EmpowerU: Skills for the Modern Workplace—a six-week professional certificate program designed to build the skills today’s employers value most. Delivered in partnership with Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ), this CCSNJ member-exclusive program focuses on real-world, immediately applicable workplace skills that drive growth for both employees and organizations.

Community & Commerce Education Partnership

CCSNJ member company employees are eligible for a 33% discount on tuition and per-credit fees in the fall and spring semesters at Rowan College of South Jersey. Learn new skills, enhance your resume and advance your career.

AP Business & Personal Finance Coming to High Schools

As part of a national partnership between the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the College Board to better align education with in-demand workforce skills, starting in the 2026–2027 school year, South Jersey high school students will have access to AP Business with Personal Finance—a college-level course covering entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, and essential money management skills through real-world, project-based learning.

Day of Service

The business community’s commitment to giving back to the regional community shines through our biennial Day of Service. Held in the spring and fall each year CCSNJ members participate in coordinated service projects at 8-10 nonprofit organizations in one day. Since its inception in 2024, 225 CCSNJ members have participated in 37 service projects throughout the region for a total of nearly 700 service hours. In 2026, 13 service projects are planned for May 19 and October 13.
