Sandi L. Rapp

Co-Founder, Time To Flourish

What inspired you to join/start your business?

My business partner Maria Veglia and I saw a true need for businesses to implement solutions that align their business and financial strategies with their people strategies while at the same time creating a more inclusive and productive workplace.

Time To Flourish is a women-owned business specializing in small business growth, operations management, and services designed to help organizations achieve financial success. Interim management and turnaround management services are customized to the scope and scale of the organizations we are serving. Time To Flourish’s distinguishing characteristic is our ability to tailor a solution specific to the needs of our clients.

What challenges have you faced as a woman entrepreneur and how did you overcome them?

Expanding our network and finding our place in the small business owner world. In a corporate setting you tend to network heavily within your own company and industry but in this journey we found that we really needed a network and support system beyond what we professionally had already created. We overcame them with persistence and patience! You have to find the groups and associations that seem to fit your needs the most, and then become an active member.

How do you define success?

For me success has a fluid definition. Some days success is accomplishing my task list; other days success is sitting at the dinner table with my family laughing and listening to stories. Professionally, success is helping my clients achieve their definition of success.

What women inspire you and why?

I have been fortunate to have many amazing female role models in my life. I was raised by an ambitious, intelligent mom who demonstrated impeccable work ethic and being true to her value system. In my professional life, women I have looked up to all share the qualities of integrity, a fierce passion for their profession, and a desire to mentor and support others. Lately, I find the younger females in my life to be a great source of inspiration. My daughter Madelyne and my neice Caitlin inspire me to make a difference and do good in this world for our next generation of incredible women.

What advice would you give to other women entrepreneurs?

Be brave, take risks, trust yourself and surround yourself with other amazing women and men.

Fill in the Blank:

  • When I face a challenge, I... think it through, write my plan out, then attack it head on!

  • If I could go back in time, I would tell myself… to slow down and appreciate every journey and experience for what is has to offer.

  • The one thing I couldn’t live without is… my supportive family.

  • To get my creative juices flowing, I… I either go for a drive to get some alone time or I call a friend or colleague to bounce around ideas.
