Assistance for Small Business Owners - U.S. Small Business Administration U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) plans to assist small business owners who have suffered economic hardship as a result of the coronavirus. The emergency funding package passed by Congress declared coronavirus a federal disaster under the Small Business Act and included approximately $7 billion for SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans to small business owners. The availability of these loans is contingent upon a request for assistance received from each state’s Governor. Upon a request received, SBA will issue under its own authority an Economic Injury Disaster Loan declaration. That declaration will then make Disaster Loans available to small businesses and private, non-profit organizations experiencing hardship. SBA’s full guidance for Small Businesses and Employers can be found here. For more information on the process of accessing Disaster Loans, click here.
